Vietnamese digital entertainment firm Pops Worldwide has partnered with Singapore-based gaming startup Storms. This partnership is to launch 35 instantly playable games on the former’s mobile app. Pops users in Vietnam and Thailand will be able to access games by Storms without downloading individual apps. This will add to the Vietnamese company’s catalogue of digital-first content, including music, gamified learning, and entertainment.
Founded in 2007, Pops Worldwide works with brands and creators globally, aggregating digital content for its mainly Southeast Asian audience. In 2019, the company announced the launch of the Pops App. Its users can stream free content such as original series and shows. To date, the firm said it has over 441 million fans and gathers 226 billion views annually.
The announcement comes as the company plans to raise $50 million. This series D funding round in the third quarter of 2021 will fuel its expansion in the region. Pops previously eyed to launch an office in Japan and to enter the Philippines by 2022.
