On August 2, 2021, Pavana and Sky Light signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The agreement helps Pavana develop and manufacture cameras. These cameras will serve Vietnamese and international customers.

About the agreement

The cooperating activities include product development, supply chain connectivity, and mass production. In Vietnam, Pavana will lead the product design. Solutions are developed with customers under the JDM or ODM model. Sky Light will organize human resources, equipment, and production infrastructure. As a result, both companies can provide the best service to their customers.

Nguyen Trung Kien, Founder & CEO of Pavana said that the company is researching smart cameras for cars and factories. This is a new field not only in Vietnam but also in the world. Pavana currently gathers about 30 R&D engineers with many years of experience. They all worked for big corporations and famous technology companies in Vietnam. The company’s team provides full-service packs. These services include design design, circuit board structure, embedded software, cloud application system. Pavana engineers also optimise the design for DFM production at Sky Light Vietnam factory. The company is expanding to meet the increasing demand of customers in the region.

About the Vietnamese partner that Sky Light invested in

Pavana Technology Joint Stock Company officially joined the Vietnamese technology village on July 16, 2021. This startup was immediately invested by CNCTech and Sky Light up to $1 million. This startup provides camera outsourcing services for ODMs and develops its own branded products. “So far, in Vietnam, when it comes to outsourcing, it means software development. But Pavana aims to outsource software, electronics and mechanical design,” said Kien. Pavana orients the development of AI camera lines for cars and security surveillance. Through the partnership with Sky Light, Pavana is able to access the global supply chain. In particular, the company can directly connect Sky Light’s longtime partner chip firms.

Regarding the reason for choosing this field, Kien said that usually, referring to AI Camera is referring to face recognition, office timekeeping or home security. Vietnam already has companies pursuing this field. There are also many big brands in the world. AI cameras for cars are a niche market with huge growth potential as the output of smart cars increases sharply. Pavana’s AI technology solves very specific, highly realistic problems. The Pavana team has a deep understanding of manufacturing and factory operations. Therefore, the company can dominate the domestic market and build an international brand.
