9 Years of Persistently Bridging Corporations with Vietnam’s Innovation and Startup Ecosystem
Marking its 9th edition as one of the largest events in the Southeast Asian startup community, Vietnam Startup Day 2022 continues its mission to connect corporations, investment funds, and strategists with high-quality tech talent and investment opportunities in Vietnam’s most promising innovative startups through the Startup Wheel 2022 competition.
Vietnam Startup Day 2022, the premier annual event linking key players in Vietnam’s and the region’s startup ecosystem, took place on August 25–26, 2022, at Riverside Palace Convention Center (360D Ben Van Don, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City). The event showcased technology exhibitions, demonstrations, and fundraising pitches by over 150 domestic and international startups, welcoming 15,000 visits, including 1,400 investors, entrepreneurs, and experts from global and Vietnamese startup support organizations.
Vietnam Startup Day 2022 Partners with Leading Domestic and Global Corporations
This year’s event featured strategic partnerships with KIDO Group, a top Vietnamese food industry corporation, alongside other major enterprises such as Qualcomm, Hoa Binh Construction Group, HBIC Innovation Center, D.Camp (Korea), Caocao (USA), Quest Ventures (Singapore), VNPT, Bizzi, Haravan, VIHAT, OCB, Coolmate, Hector, Coca-Cola, and investment funds like ThinkZone Ventures and Zone Startups Vietnam.
Startup Wheel 2022 Reaches Final Round
The Startup Wheel 2022 competition, part of Vietnam Startup Day, drew nearly 2,000 projects from 33 countries across sectors such as AI, Big Data, SaaS, IoT, fintech, edutech, and agritech. Designed as a 6-month accelerator program, it included over 60 workshops to enhance startups’ capabilities.

Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi, Chairwoman and CEO of IBP, Founder and Strategic Advisor of BSSC, shared: “Startup Wheel creates direct value for corporations positioning themselves as innovation pioneers. Post-pandemic, Vietnam Startup Day offers a platform for businesses to collaborate with tech talent, invest in emerging fields, and gain competitive edges through innovation. It’s also a space for key teams to observe trends and breakthroughs.”
A defining strength of Startup Day and Startup Wheel is their ability to connect critical components of the startup ecosystem, particularly entrepreneurs, industry experts, and domestic/international investment funds. During the semi-final and final rounds of Startup Wheel 2022, the competition engaged over 150 prominent figures—including entrepreneurs, investors, and experts to evaluate projects.
Inspired by “The Tipping Point”
Drawing inspiration from Malcolm Gladwell’s “The Tipping Point”, Vietnam Startup Day 2022 organized by BSSC, IBP, and the Young Businesspeople Association of Ho Chi Minh City (YBA), aimed to help startups reach their breakthrough moment. It leveraged a network of 300+ partners, including venture funds, incubators, media, corporations, and universities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Hang, CEO of BSSC, emphasized: “Startups must find their ‘tipping point’. Vietnam Startup Day 2022, is positioned as ‘The Power of Context,’ empowers 150 standout startups to ignite their ‘wildfire’ and capture markets.”

Vietnam Startup Day 2022 was initiated and organized by the Business Startup Support Center (BSSC), a leading organization in Vietnam’s entrepreneurial support sector. BSSC is known for its comprehensive programs aimed at fostering innovation and aims to serve as a hub for exchanging knowledge, expertise, and resources between domestic and international individuals and organizations. Its goal is to build a sustainable foundation for Vietnamese startups.
