WINDOU
WINDOU is a platform that uses AI technology to connect sellers and buyers of recyclable waste, while also automatically calculating the amount of carbon saved from recycling activities. The project aims to address plastic pollution and promote sustainable development in Vietnam.
The idea for the WINDOU project originated from the personal experiences of the founder, who used to collect scrap materials as a child. From the challenges faced by other scrap collectors, he realized the need for a technological solution to efficiently connect them with recycling businesses. This not only helps improve the lives of scrap collectors but also contributes to environmental protection.
Important milestones and key events:
- January 2024: Ideation, research, and development of the application.
- February 2024: Development of calculation technology and research on the UNCFFF carbon credit scale.
- April 2024: Top 30 in the KAWAI Startup Competition 2024.
- Early June 2024: Launch of the beta version of the application on CH Play and collection of feedback from over 30 individuals and businesses interested in recycling waste commerce and carbon credit regulations in green transition.
- June 2024: Awarded the top global project addressing the United Nations’ SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, organized by UNESCO.
- July 2024: Finalist in the Runway Startup 2024 competition.
- August 2024: Finalist in the Vietnam Youth Startup – Startup Wheel 2024.
Windou’s product allows:
- Connection for buying and selling waste and recycled products via mobile app and website (for individual customers and small households).
- Conversion of recycled waste into carbon credits (for businesses and production facilities participating in the green, circular economy).
- Calculation of the amount of carbon that can be saved through green living actions (using electric vehicles, recycling items, etc.).
- Conversion of recycling contribution points to community projects (for businesses and collective households not participating in carbon credit commerce).
What makes this product unique is its combination of AI technology to calculate carbon credits saved from each green living action (recycling, using electric vehicles, etc.) and the feature to convert recycled waste into carbon credits. This creates a comprehensive platform that not only effectively connects sellers and buyers but also actively promotes recycling and environmental protection, providing significant community educational value. Moreover, these tech-applied features have not yet been widely adopted in the recycled waste business market, while the potential for growth in the carbon credit trading sector is enormous.
